Aberdeen

Membership

Our membership year runs from 1 September to 31 August, and the annual fee is £10.00. Membership forms are sent to existing members each August and can also be downloaded from our website.

Individuals who are already full members of another u3a may, on proof of membership, become associate members of Aberdeen u3a at an annual cost of £4.00.

The subscription also allows access to any u3a in the UK. If you intend visiting another u3a, do please contact them first as they may wish to see proof of your Aberdeen u3a membership.

How to join Aberdeen U3A

New members are very welcome. If you are interested in joining, please download the membership form by clicking on the link on the right-hand side of this page, or use the membership queries button on our Contact page to get further information.

We hold monthly speaker meetings, and the programme of talks is on our Events page. You can come along as a visitor to one of these meetings to find out more about us and our many activities. You will be able to chat to several of our group leaders to discuss your own particular interests. Please mention at the desk that this is your first visit and a committee member will make you welcome and introduce you to other members.

Our various interest groups meet regularly. For information on current group activities, you can contact the group leaders by using the pigeon icon each group page. The groups enrolment form can be downloaded by clicking the link on the right, but before completing it, please contact the group leader(s) to ensure there is space in the group.

Cost

£10 subscription per annum (due in September) (£5 for the remainder of the year from April 2024)

£3 for each monthly meeting and this includes tea or coffee

Additional charges may be applicable to join interest groups, depending on frequency and venue of meetings.

In addition all members receive a yearly newsletter with contacts and information about groups and events. Members may also receive Third Age Matters, a nationally-produced U3A magazine, five times a year, although members may choose to opt out of receiving these.
