Book Group 1

Book Group 1 is for people who want to foster their curiosity. It’s a group for those who enjoy discovering and discussing books with other book lovers. We meet on the second Friday of most calendar months at the Aberdeen Methodist Church, Crown Terrace from 1.30 pm - 3.30 pm (tops).

The group is member-led. Each member has the opportunity to select a book for discussion. Individuals introduce their choice and after their short presentation on the book and its author(s), group members exchange and share their views. A ‘cuppa’ gently brings our discussion to a close.

Our member’s book selections for session 2023/24 include Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus, Two is Lonely by Lynne Reid Banks, Sunset Song by Lewis Grassic Gibbon, Small Things Like These by Clare Keegan, The Shipping News by Annie Proulx, Merica’s Take by Daniel Wiles, People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society by Mary Ann Shaffer.

We are currently operating a waiting list.
