Bridge

Every Friday afternoon a group of us meet to have a sociable afternoon playing Bridge at the Group Leader’s home starting at 2:00 pm.

The range of our playing skills varies considerably but we are a very friendly group and try to support and encourage the less experienced members, however this group is not suitable for beginners.

There is a welcome break in the middle of the afternoon for refreshments.

Most of us play ACOL and the bidding is normal Contract Bridge bidding. However, when it comes to scoring we use the Chicago Bridge scoring system. We draw for partners at the beginning of the session and play four hands with that partner. At the end of each round we move places and change partners. It means that in the course of the afternoon we play with several different partners. It may sound complicated but actually it is quite simple and there is always someone to help out if you get confused.

If you feel you would like to come along and meet us please contact Ann Nicholson.
