Rocks & Ruins

Rocks and Ruins (Geology & Archaeology)

We meet monthly, normally on the first Friday morning of the month. Except in the depths of winter, we go out to visit places of geological and/or archaeological interest, which may entail nothing more than standing round in a castle, but more often involves a fair bit of walking. Starting time is usually 09:30 am or 10:00 am with return by about 1:00 pm, but longer trips extend into the afternoon; the furthest we’ve been so far is Lyme Regis for the fossils. No prior knowledge is needed, just an enthusiasm for the more solid bits of our landscape.
