Launceston and District u3a has 230 members. The membership fee also entitles you to receive Network, a bi-monthly in-house newsletter. This can be collected at the Monthly Meeting or will be distributed by email or by post, posted copies will cost £4 per annum. The latest issue (redacted copy) will also be uploaded to the Newsletters page under LINKS.

Associate Membership: Members who already belong to another u3a to which they pay their Third Age Trust (TAT) fee, may, upon proof of membership, pay the reduced fee of £8.00, as the TAT fee need only be paid to one u3a. The current TAT fee, levied by the Third Age Trust, has been set at £4.00. It should also be noted that associate membership does not imply an inferior form of membership.

Small added costs may be involved in membership of a group; contributions to the hire of a venue; coffee and biscuits when provided; and for members getting lifts on outings they are expected to contribute to fuel and parking costs; suggested amounts are a minimum of £1.25 per person for a round trip of up to 10 miles, £2.50 for up to 20 miles. For longer journeys payment should be by agreement, depending on the distance covered. Any parking charge is additional to the fuel cost. The u3a does not pay parking charges and passengers are expected to contribute.
