Meetings are held once a month, usually on a Thursday morning in the upstairs room at Der Koffee Pot
The Group looks at all aspects of history i.e. local, national and international. It also looks at any time period of history.
Past subjects discussed in 2023 have been: The Titanic, the Balfour Declaration of 1917, Henry II, the Assisted Passage Scheme to Australia 1945-1973, the Tudor Monarchs, a Guided Tour of Rotherwas Munitions Site and Historical Developments in Tintern.
The proposed next meeting is on Thursday May 16th at 10 a.m. the topic to be decided.
On Sunday April 14th in the afternoon there will is a proposed trip to the battle site of MORTIMERS CROSS (5 miles North of Leominster) which was a significant battle in the War of the Roses. Martin Hackett, who has written a book which includes information on this site, will give a 2 hour guided tour. Please indicate your interest to Steve if you haven't already done so.
