I enjoy baking – do you? Let us get inspired by everyone else and give us a spur to try something different.
Coming together every month (see below), each with our various bakes to share with a cup of tea and going home with a selection too. There will be no winners or losers. One stipulation, bring what you bake HOWEVER it turns out, we have all had disasters!
We explore various themes, perhaps share specialist equipment, definitely ask questions, share knowledge and very importantly, enjoy making friends.
Until March 2023, we have merged the two BakeXchange groups into this original one when hopefully numbers have grown sufficiently again to support the two groups.

January 2023 – Topic: A bake using citrus
8 types of cake that had to be sampled – good job it’s only once a month!!
Easy Lemon Layer cake with cream, Lemon squares, Lemon Tray bake with lemon curd centre, Lemon butter biscuits, Raspberry and lemon polenta cake, Orange polenta cake, Chocolate orange cake and Orange and mascarpone layer cake.
February 2023 – Topic: An English Regional bake
We covered the country with this month’s selection
Lancaster Lemon tart, Chorley cake, Yorkshire Tea bread, Coconut cake, Lardy cake,
Dorset Apple cake, Malted milk biscuits, and Towcester/Northamptonshire cheese cakes.
March 2023 – Challenge this month was : ‘Using vegetables in a Sweet Bake’
What a variety this month, with surprises!
Courgette cakes,- both different, one with chocolate, one with pistachios and lemon
Spiced sweet potato cake with walnuts, Beetroot and chocolate sponge cake,
Kale cupcakes with orange frosting, Ginger and parsnip cake – National Trust recipe
Butternut squash and spice cheesecake and a Chocolate and beetroot loaf cake
