Motoring

When: 2nd Tuesday of the month - 11:30am
The group is for like minded members who share an interest in motoring or combustion engines to enjoy a variety of social events and outings.
It is not a prerequisite to own any motor vehicle at all, just an enthusiasm for automotives and all things connected. Lifts can be arranged!
The aim is to provide diverse activities with wide ranging appeal. We have visited Aviation museums, Motoring and Transport museums, enjoyed free guided tours of National Trust properties and held a photographic competition.
Future trips are to include a visit to the Oxford Bus Museum, which includes the Morris Motor Museum and a collection of bicycles. A visit to a farm with a collection of vintage tractors - with lunch. Possible Canal boat trip after visit to waterside café and a tour of the museum at Stoke Bruerne. And a Saturday trip to a secret warfare museum near Harrington, not far from a Gin distillery!!
In May there is the Daventry Motorfest, at which we will be available on one of the stands.
Usually these outings will be kept within reasonable driving distance of Daventry to save on coaching costs etc. But if there is a demand longer outings to areas like the Lake District which has several collections, most notably Bluebird K7, and several lake cruises.
