Sat Sep 24th Champions Manor - Quiz Night. Details to Follow
Mon Jul 18th July - A trip to Fudlers Hall in Mashbury (just the other side of Chelmsford) on Monday 18th or Tuesday 19th. It is an award winning garden with pastoral views. Walls and hedges create rooms featuring many roses and 500 year old yew. This will have to be an arranged group visit and Linda Sinclair has kindly offered to organise this.
Tue Aug 16th August - visit to Bridge End Gardens in Saffron Walden on Tuesday 16th. These gardens are free, so just have to pay for parking in Saffron Walden. They were created in 1840 by Francis Gibson, a local Quaker who also build the Fry Art Gallery. Lots to see here - Dutch garden, wilderness, rose garden, sunken parterre, hedge maze. We could do this as an afternoon visit, leaving SWF at 1pm. Again, we'll sort out car shares nearer the time.
Tue Sep 20th September - Another plant swap, this time hosted by Ken and Terri on Tuesday 20th, 2pm start. We can also talk about a possible Christmas visit to Perrywoods at the end of November/beginning of December. An early lunch then a walk round the garden centre. Date to be decided in September.
Thu Oct 6th October - visit to Cambridge Botanical Gardens on Thursday 10th. There's always something to see here, no matter what time of year you visit. It takes about 80 minutes to get to Cambridge, so car share again. We can leave the cars at the park & ride and get the bus into the city - it stops right opposite the gardens. If we leave SWF at 9.30 we can be in Cambridge before 11am, have a look round the gardens, then maybe go into the city for lunch - to be decided nearer the time!
