The poetry group meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 2pm in members’ homes.
The first meeting of the group took place on 5th March 2024 with just three members. We would dearly love to have a few more!
The aims of the group are:
• to give us all an incentive to write poetry by having a topic and a deadline
• to learn from others how they approach writing poetry
• to give and receive constructive comments in a positive, friendly and supportive environment
• to enjoy each other's company
We agree a (rough) brief for a poem each month. Contributions are circulated before the meeting where each poem is read out and discussed. For our first meeting we each wrote a poem on Spring.

Anyone is welcome to come along and find out what we do. You don’t have to have written poetry before, or have any special expertise or knowledge, and you don’t need to write anything before you come.
