Beacon - a new management system for U3A

Our old membership system used an Access database, only ran on one personal computer and was quite difficult to use. So we have now moved to a new management system that has been specially developed for U3As called Beacon, which is web based and can do much more than just keep membership records. An important feature is that records such as email addresses are kept in only one place. Restricted areas of the records can be accessed by relevant committee members and coordinators, for example to send emails to members. It has the possibility of enabling subscriptions to be paid online in the future.

You can access the Beacon system to check and correct your own personal data and, if you wish, add your mobile phone number. You do this via the Members' Portal at (click here for Members Portal). You will be asked for your membership number, forename, surname, email address and postcode. If it will not let you in it probably means that we have an error in one of the above. Please call the membership secretary who will check it with you over the phone.

Ambleside & District U3A's use of Beacon is subject to certain terms and conditions. In turn any of our members who is allocated a password to become a user of the system must abide by the conditions set out in the seven numbered points in section 3 of this document.
