Stratford-upon-Avon

Piano Group

The Piano Group now meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 10am, normally in the Methodist Church Side Room 1.

We currently have eight members with the widest possible piano ability range. Some members are beginners or recent 'restarters' and some are at about Intermediate level. One who is particularly good serves to inspire the rest of us! There are no show-offs; we talk about difficulties we're having with pieces and we all encourage one another. It's most enjoyable and motivating.

We come each month with a piece which we are practising and play it for the others: most of us find this difficult - we can all play better on our own at home, of course! And it's good but salutary to use a different piano. Sometimes we have been known to try some simple sight-reading.

There is always a selection of Pianist Magazines which may be borrowed. These include tips on how to play better as well as 40 pages of sheet music to suit all levels and tastes.

There would be a warm welcome from the group for anyone who would like to join us, to be encouraged to play the piano again.
