Stratford-upon-Avon

Piano Group

The Piano Group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 10 to 11.30am, normally in the Methodist Church Side Room 1.

We currently have eleven members with the widest possible piano ability range. Some are beginners or recent 'restarters' and some are at about Intermediate level. One who is particularly good serves to inspire the rest of us! There are no show-offs; we talk about difficulties we're having with pieces and we all encourage one another. It's most enjoyable and motivating.

We come each month with a piece we are practising and play it for the others: most of us find this difficult - we can all play better on our own at home, of course! And it's good but salutary to use a different piano. No-one is obliged to play, and we finish every meeting with coffee and biscuits.

There is always a selection of Pianist Magazines which may be borrowed. These include tips on how to play better as well as 40 pages of sheet music for all levels and tastes.

We feel that we have probably reached our maximum number now, given the time constraints of our meetings.
