Meetings 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month 2.30pm to 3.30pm
We are working through the Oxford Latin Series and are now close to the end of Book Two. The group has read the tale of Dido and Aeneas and some of the wanderings of Odysseus. More recently it has been the death of Caesar and subsequent upheaval in Rome. Sadly we abandoned after one session at Christmas a mediaeval Latin Nativity play - too many grammatical forms and structures, which we have yet to tackle. But we were intrigued by the presence of midwives at the manger and the ‘stage’ instruction for the three kings, each to approach from a different corner of the church.
