Meetings: Tuesday mornings from 10 to 11am in term time only at Tysoe C of E Primary School
We play steel pans for fun! You do not need to be able to read music or to have played any other instrument before. Unfortunately we no longer have a teacher, but we have experienced players who will teach you and have you playing Calypso, folk and pop tunes before very long.
Previously we have played at occasional charity events, fetes and Caribbean evenings, which have been great fun and helped to raise funds for good causes. We played a couple of times at the u3a's special Open Day in the Town Hall on 20th September and so impressed the Town Clerk that she invited us to play for the town's official Christmas celebrations this year.
There is a charge of £30 per term (three terms per year). This is to pay for room hire, the use of instruments, pan tuning, sticks etc.
