Stratford-upon-Avon

Welcome to our u3a

Welcome! A warm welcome, whether you are already a member of Stratford-upon-Avon u3a or someone looking to join an organisation which offers friendship and opportunities to learn and socialise in congenial company. Contrary to popular belief, u3a is not restricted to retired elderly people. It is open to anyone no longer in full-time employment, including those who have raised a family and are now looking for a new interest and a new challenge.

One of the links on this page will take you to our latest newsletter, where you can find out what's happening in our u3a at the moment and how you can get involved in our many activities. And do add our web address to your favourites so that you can find us again easily in future: https://u3asites.org.uk/stratforduponavon/home

Our venue We have a monthly meeting for all members in the Methodist Church Hall. See the link for directions. After a talk there is time to chat with friends over refreshments in the foyer.

To find a list of our speakers and topics for the these meetings for the remainder of 2022 go to the Events page and click on Monthly Meetings. Come as a visitor and/or become a member at a meeting. Or join now by requesting an application form from the Membership Secretary via our Contacts page.

We now have 25 interest groups to cater for many tastes. But you are most welcome to start a new group; we make it very simple for you. Most groups meet at a member's home, some in a church hall - and one in a pub! Some involve visits to places of interest eg, gardens, churches, care homes (gigs) etc.

We are actively recruiting new committee members to keep our u3a flourishing. For further information see our latest newsletter. Our most urgent need is for a Secretary, but there are other vacancies too. We also need helpers at our monthly meetings to take a share in putting out chairs and tables and in setting up equipment for our speakers. There are lots of opportunities to get involved. As in all organisations, the more you put into it the more you'll get out of it!
