History
Group Leader: Malcolm Hall
The History group was started in September 2020 during lockdown by Malcolm Hall.
The group’s purpose is to examine the past in order to gain a better understanding of how it has influenced our country and the world today, and to question and challenge historical records. It can include local, national, and international content. We include visits and guest speakers as they become available. The group meets on Zoom but this may change in the future.
Topics have varied greatly so far, and have included: ‘The Great Plague’, ‘Roman Britain’, ‘Q Ships’, ‘The Weird and Curious History of a Bridge over the Weir’, ‘The History of Hanbury Hall and Bordesley Hall’, ‘The History of some Royal Palaces, Past and Present’, and ‘The History of Lyme Regis’.
We will always welcome new members, and presentations on any historical topic.
