Computer Users Group
The Computer Users Group is set up to support non-specialists who make, or would like to make, active use of their computers, tablets and similar technology in their everyday lives. Typical of these uses are for hobbies, sending emails, internet shopping and banking.
Support is provided by considering problems reported by the members, by showcasing new software and hardware products, and by giving introductory-level tutorials on a number of software packages. As far as possible, the sessions are structured to be equally applicable to users of laptops, desktop units, iPads and tablets, running MAC or Windows software.
Recent topics have included, 'Should I upgrade to Windows 11?', document scanning, 3-D printing, ‘To buy or not to buy - do I really need that new computer?', streaming and Spotify, E-books, 'Why is my computer going more slowly than before?' and anti-virus packages.
Members are encouraged to suggest topics for future sessions.
