Committee

Your Committee provides the administration and management of the Redditch u3a.

It consists of a Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and various other roles to ensure that activities are well managed throughout the year. They are elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting each year. We encourage members to consider joining the committee to assist in the development of interest groups and social activities.

Committee meetings typically take place five times a year, usually in January, March, July, September and November. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) takes place in May.

Election or re-election to the Committee takes place at the Annual General Meeting each year. The 2024 AGM will take place at 2pm on Tuesday 21st May at The Bridge Community Hall in Headless Cross. The Committee invites anyone who has been a member of our u3a for one full year, to consider standing for election to the Committee at that time. Please don’t hesitate to approach any of the current committee members or contact the Secretary (Sylvia Edwards) if you would like to ask any questions or to have an informal discussion about what is involved. The 2023-2024 Committee comprises:

Chair: Malcolm Hall
Role: To direct, manage and organise Redditch u3a through its committee.

Vice-Chair: Sue Gee
Role: To act as deputy to the Chair and assist in the management of all activities.

Treasurer: Anne Lacey
Role: To manage the financial accounts, monitor expenditure and provide forecasts when necessary.

Secretary: Sylvia Edwards
Role: To be responsible for effective and efficient administration and act as a point of contact for both internal and external matters.

Membership Secretary: Ros Williams
Role: To manage new and existing members including receipt of annual membership subscriptions.

Programme Secretary: Margaret Toole
Role: To develop an annual programme of speakers for general meetings.

Events Coordinator: Murray Taylor
Role: To coordinate various social events during the year.

Website Coordinator: Steve Prosser
Role: To manage the website and take a proactive approach to keeping it up to date.

Committee Member: David Pattenden
Role: To act as committee member and provide guidance and support where needed.

Committee Member: Sue Smith
Role: To act as committee member and provide guidance and support where needed.
