Chess
This is an informal group whose primary aim is to involve folk in the world of Chess, from those who don't know one end of the board from the other, to those who know the game but may not have played for years. There is evidence that playing chess is a good cognitive exercise that may help towards combating the onset of Dementia. But it's also fun! the group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at Fairfield Hall between 3pm to 5pm.
Meetings are suspended during the Covid-19 crisis, but contact the Study Group Coordinator for the latest update information (Your enquiry will be passed onto the Group Leader)#
