Natural History & Science
The Natural History and Science Group meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 10.00am in Williams Court. Attendances have been growing, now averaging around 16 people. A full range of science, medical and geological topics have been covered and will continue to do so. In the past we have looked at Atomic Theory, electromagnetism, Newtonian Mechanics, Einstein's Relativity, Quantum Theory, Astrophysics, Cells & DNA, Genetics, Protection Against Disease and various Geological themes. The aim is to cover topics not necessarily taught at school. Some schools used to only teach basic biology, so physics and chemistry are particularly covered. For those who have a better science background, we try to bring information up to date, and also make it understandable.
