The Monday walking group is well (and enthusiastically) attended. Walks average around 6-7 miles, but the pace is fairly relaxed, and there is always ample time for chatting, enjoying the scenery and eating our picnic lunch. Walk lengths and difficulty vary and are led by members of the group. Grade of walk is based on 'The Ramblers' guidelines and indicated by Easy, Leisurely and Moderate etc. Further details may be obtained from the leader who also decides on any last minute changes on the day. Details of upcoming walks can be found by clicking the Events/Diary tab, where you can view the diary and contact details for the relevant walk leader. (General enquiries can be made by contacting Geraldine Leach on email@example.com.)
Our fortnightly walks regularly attract up to 10 regular members. We normally meet at Bloomfield House to car share, so non-drivers are very welcome.
Walks we have enjoyed over the years include many tried-and-tested coastal and hill routes, river valleys and even urban routes. We are always open to new ideas and welcome any offers to lead a walk, which will vary according to season and/or the interests and knowledge of the person leading that particular walk. Also, we enjoy incorporating a stop at a point of interest or even a local hostelry. For example we have enjoyed a scenic route from Carew castle, through fields and woods to Cresselly Quay, where we took liquid refreshments at the pub; a walk around Laugharne, which included Dylan Thomas’ 'birthday' stretch of coastline and the beautiful Delacorse Gardens and a very well-attended jaunt around the south of Narberth, ending with tea and homemade cakes at a member's home.
Obviously, there were many more...and there'll be many more to come.
