Let’s Go is a mixture of planned outings and spontaneous events initiated by our members. These can be simple such as meet for a walk and coffee, a visit to a museum or art gallery or elaborate like a holiday - and everything in between. Many of our events are free to attend and numbers vary from a small group to a coach full.
Some events we will be car sharing as well as using public transport. Don't worry if you don't drive, we generally find enough people to do this.
The leaders don’t run all of the activities. Members are encouraged to initiate events other members would enjoy. The success relies on people being willing to do this. A leader or someone with experience will help.

We welcome members from Birkdale and Ainsdale to join in our events. Other surrounding U3A’s are also welcome. If you want to really get involved, join us, it is great value.

| Thu May 23rd | Walk and Breakfast A walk around Kings Gardens followed by a breakfast at Wetherspoons on Lord Street. It’s a circuit of the southern half of the lake, back across the venetian bridge. The walk starts at 10am and breakfast is whatever you want, even just a cup of coffee or a bacon roll. | Sat Jun 22nd | Blackpool Ballroom and Afternoon Tea We are considering a group outing to Blackpool, with the centrepiece being the afternoon tea, served in the Ballroom, with its magnificent decoration; the venue for the final of “Strictly Come Dancing”. During our time there, we will be entertained by the organist on the mighty Wurlitzer. You can stay as long as you like, and take a spin on the floor if you wish. | Sun Jun 30th | Let’s Go Mersey Ferries Birdwatching and Wildlife Cruise Sunday 30th June and Saturday 31st August Lets Go are planning a trip on the Mersey Ferries Birdwatching Cruise. There are two dates - Sunday 30th June and Saturday 31st August. The cost is £25 for the cruise however if we get 20 people, we can get a group discount. We would need to be at the ferry for about 10am but being a weekend, train travel will be on our Mersey cards.
