The Italian conversation group began back in the mists of time - about 2012 maybe? It started as a group for complete beginners, using the BBC Talk Italian books and CDs, ably led by Julia Williams, who is actually Spanish. After a couple of years chopping and changing membership, and a few of us persevering, the group acquired two fluent Italian speakers and settled at a regular eight members, who now know each other very well and are able to have a conversation (mostly) in Italian on all sorts of subjects.
Unfortunately for potential new members, this means we are no longer a beginners group and we don’t really have room for newcomers at the moment. We have enough trouble ensuring all eight of us can fit round the table and all get to say something in Italian! But we would be very pleased to help anyone wishing to start a new group.
