Book Group E
Book Group E which we refer to as "Fourth Wednesday Reading Group" meets at 2pm on the 4th Wednesday of the month, usually in the homes of any members who feel that they have the space and circumstances to accommodate the group. Although we have more members we usually find that we average about six people at each meeting. Enquiries from potential new members are welcomed.
We are a group of people who enjoy reading and the atmosphere is informal. Discussion ranges around the book itself as well as the era and context that the book is set in. Tea and biscuits are usually provided by the host and there is an opportunity to discuss some of the other authors that we are currently enjoying.
Books are selected from a “Master list” put together from recommendations from group members and recommendations from other book groups. Each member is responsible for getting their own copy of the book each month - however members will often pass their copy around the group if they have an extra copy available. (Previously we used sets of books provided by the library but found that this became too restricting. Of course, it is still possible to reserve a book through the library or to use their Overdrive App, if preferred.)
Group communications are largely through email, therefore members are encouraged to regularly check their email accounts. (Help is available for anyone struggling with technology updates etc.)
