Leyburn Cycling Group
We are an informal group who ride socially, mainly on Thursdays, with rides usually starting at The Auction Mart in Leyburn. All bikes are welcome, most are road bikes, but there are a few alternative bike styles including one Tandem and a smattering of e-bikes.
We run three groups, with rides varying from 20, 30, and 40 miles as measured from Leyburn. Those distances are approximate and do vary depending upon the elevation change in each route.
We use an App called SPOND to organise our rides. You don't have to use the App (it is much easier though) but you will have to accept the group invitation to SPOND to participate. SPOND will let you know of rides, routes and changes via email if you don't have or want the App. Most of our group do use the App. The group has grown a lot since its inception (before my time) and currently has 70 members. As a result we have to institute a group size limit (for safety) and SPOND allows us to manage this seamlessly.
We are always open to new members, however with the above in mind please do not simply turn up and hope. We would hate our first meeting to be a refusal.
