Opera
The group meets at a member’s home on 3rd Monday of the month: 2pm-4pm. Over the past few months the group has been looking at less frequently performed operas by Giuseppe Verdi. We wanted to understand why this is the case and took Stiffelio, Macbeth, Don Carlos and Simon Boccanegra as our examples. We had three "diversions" in amongst the Verdi: John Adams "The death of Klinghoffer"; Monteverdi "Orfeo"; and Janacek "The Cunning Little Vixen". The latter two were introduced by members of the group.
Sadly, we are completely full with a waiting list, but if you are interested, please contact the organiser, Judy Ricks via the contact tab on this website.
