Philosophers
This group will meet for 15 monthly sessions, from October 2023 to February 2025, looking at the lives and teachings of the great philosophers from Ancient Greece to the 20th century.
Group meetings will be from 2-4pm on the third Thursday of the month at Grantham Museum. The charge for the meeting will be not more than £2 to cover rent and other expenses. Refreshments will be available from the Museum at £1 for tea/coffee/hot chocolate. There is a lift in the museum for those who cannot climb the stairs. Parking is available in the Welham Street multi-story car park at £1.20 for 3 hours.
The knowledge input will include extracts from a renowned series of interviews made by Bryan Magee in 1987. This will be supplemented by other short videos on the same topic, followed by discussion in small groups and a short plenary session.
