Grantham U3A AGM – 18th February 2020

A big ‘thank you’ to the 89 members who attended our monthly meeting in February – the AGM. Sadly that number was too few to make a quorum and so we are all faced with the inconvenience of having to run the AGM again at our next monthly meeting on Tuesday 17th March.
At the February meeting we went through all the business thoroughly and voted on all the proposals, which were all carried. Because of this, with your permission, we will run an abbreviated version on March 17th, just putting forward the various proposals to be voted on. This will mean that we will keep our speaker waiting for the least possible time.
There is one change to the proposals. It is proposed to increase the maximum size of the committee from 12 to 15, as a result of which John and Pam Down have offered themselves for election to the committee. Their names will be added to the list of candidates, bring the total number of candidates to 14.

CHRISTMAS SOCIAL FEEDBACK

Thanks to all those who sent in their views. The consensus was that many of our groups organise seasonal celebrations for their members and therefore a social is an unnecessary extra. The committee has decided that, this year, we will have our usual monthly meeting on December 15th, enjoying festive music from the Bridge Singers, along with light refreshments.
