Joining Elmbridge U3A
If you would prefer to join by post follow the instructions here Joining by Post.
If you share a postal address with an existing member of Elmbridge U3A and wish to register as a Joint member with them, please contact the Membership Secretary (email@example.com or 0208 97927370), otherwise follow the process described below and you will be taken to Beacon, our online administrative system. You will need to enter your personal details in an online form and then pay. Two people sharing the same address can join at the same time as joint members with a single payment to cover both members. Payment online must be by PayPal. You do not need to have a PayPal account to do this. (You do create a temporary account but it lasts only until your payment goes through.) As you will see you can simply route a credit or debit card payment via PayPal.
The Subscription Fees are as follows:
- For each person joining before 30th June 2019 the fee is £10 (thus £20 for two Joint Members). This covers the period to December 31st 2019.
- For each person joining between 1st July and 31st December 2019 the fee is £15 (thus £30 for two Joint Members). This covers the period to December 31st 2020.
You do not have to Gift Aid your donations/subscriptions but, if you can and you wish to do so, we very much encourage you to do it. The Gift Aid scheme means that any donations/subscriptions that you make to Elmbridge U3A will be worth 25% more to us at no cost to you. Higher and additional rate tax payers can also claim back further tax by including Gift Aid payments on their tax return.
Please tick the box labelled “tick if eligible for Gift Aid” in Beacon, this will enable us to reclaim the tax on this and any future donations/subscriptions that you make. In doing so you will be confirming that you agree with the following statements:
- I want to Gift Aid this and future donations/subscriptions to Elmbridge U3A
- I confirm that I am a UK tax payer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax / Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid Claimed on all my donations/subscriptions in that tax year, it is my responsibility to pay any difference.
Please note that, in the case of Joint Membership, it is the Gift Aid status of the person paying that applies and that a single payment covering two Joint Members can be Gift Aided for the full amount.
Emergency Contact - If you elect to enter information in the Emergency contact field, it will be used by us ONLY in emergencies. It is your responsibility to ensure that the person nominated has agreed to be the identified as the contact.
