Some other activities such as cycling, country walking, flower painting, lawn croquet, military history, petanque, social walking and Table Tennis will be allowed to restart when lockdown ends.
Most groups have a set schedule, some decide next meeting dates on an ad hoc basis. Some meet weekly, some fortnightly some less frequently. At 12/3/2020 the activities across the week were as shown in the attached spreadsheet (click Days for Group activities). It is, of course subject to change.
In normal times, most meetings are held in members homes and, apart from a contribution to the cost of refreshments, are free of charge. However, some groups need to rent accommodation and also, sometimes, to hire or purchase equipment. In such cases, arrangements will be made for the costs to be recovered from group members, either over a period of time or, in some cases, as an initial one off payment.
We are always looking for new groups. If you have an idea for one, we will help you to get started, find a venue and recruit members.
Group Leaders are reminded that they will be handling members' personal data and that they must take care not to allow it to be accessed by anyone else, other than members of the Committee, without the explicit permission of the affected members.
For more information about this and about any existing group, please consult the most recent Newsletter or Beacon or, as a last resort, email the Groups Secretary at groupsec@elmbridgeu3a.org.
