Sunday Walking
The group is not running at present as we are looking for new leaders. Please contact Sue Soulsby if interested.
----- Our walks tend to be on the first Sunday of the month unless circumstances mean we have to change it. We started with walks using the Metro and I managed to get hold of a few booklets but now have identified a website I can print walks from. We have also found some lovely walks not too far away from home.
If our walks finish near a pub serving food I sometimes book Sunday lunch which has proven to be very popular along with some liquid refreshment.
Our car-sharing walks setting off from Boker Lane car park have proved to be very successful and meant we could go a bit further afield. I have joined Walking World on behalf of the members and the U3A kindly reimbursed me.
We are a friendly group and have bonded well together and enjoy each others company. I try to have a definite number of members before the day for when we take cars as I need to know we have enough.
Members must take responsibility for their own personal safety making sure they wear the correct footwear and protective clothing. I can check other safety aspects of each walk but we are all adults and need to accept personal responsibilty for our own safety.
That aside, we aim to have fun, friendship, fresh air and plenty of exercise!
