Art

When we meet at The School Room All Saints Church, Cleadon from 2pm till 4pm each fortnight there is always a lot of 'crack', that in itself is a good start to the afternoon! We are a good, cheerful bunch of enthusiasts with a wide range of watercolour expertise. Watercolour is the main medium for painting as it is the most convenient and easy to demonstrate.

Everyone has their own materials. I usually give a little chat and demonstration then off they go; either to have a go at what they have seen or to work on something they are busy with. I am a great believer in 'casting bread upon the water' and have done demos with acrylics, gouache, crayons and water soluble pencils.

Some of our members go to other Art classes and there is good interaction and passing on of information. It is amazing the different ways there are of doing the same things! There have been days when we have been so busy we haven't had time for coffee, very rare! It is a super way to spend an afternoon, there is lots of space at our venue, so anyone who would like to give it a try is more than welcome. You might even go away with a finished painting and have had good fun as well!
