Bird Watching
We are a friendly group who enjoy going out to various locations to watch Birds, our first meeting was in August 2019 when we went to RSPB ‘Bowers Marsh’ at Pitsea we saw a good number of Birds of different species and although it poured with rain half way through it did not deter us.
Places we have visited are mostly fairly local and include RSPB and Essex Wildlife Trust Reserves, Wallasea Island, Hanningfield and Abberton Reservoirs, Thameside Nature Discovery Park, Gunners Park and Two Tree Island are just some of them. There may be a small donation at some of these venues for non members.
We meet on the 2nd Monday of the Month, usually around 9:15am and stop somewhere for a coffee and toilet break, then finish somewhere between 12 and 2, often with another coffee before the journey home.
Please don’t call us ‘Twitchers’ we are Bird Watchers, I wrote an article for the Newsletter in October 2019 explaining the difference.
