Ashingdon & Rochford

Petanque

Petanque is a French (Provencal) outdoor game played by two opposing teams. The goal is to throw boules (hollow steel balls, the size of an orange) as close as possible to a small wooden sphere called a cochonnet (literally 'piglet'), while standing inside a circle with both feet on the ground. The game is normally played on hard dirt or gravel. Boules are approx. £20 for 6.

We meet on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month between 10 am and 12 noon at Life Community Church, opposite Ashingdon Primary School.

Fees are £1.50 per session which includes a mug of tea or coffee.

We are a group of 26 members who have great fun playing in all weathers, rain or shine.
