In this group, emphasis is on the appreciation of ALL types of music. Each programme introduces new recordings, refers to topical events, and above all gives members a chance to LISTEN to music rather than just HEAR it.

Items range from Bach to Bacharach, McCartney to Mahler. All are preceded by a commentary with information about the artist, or the composer, or simply a background to the composition.

Whilst it aims to be informative, it is never 'highbrow'. Humour, and members input, is an essential element, with the occasional trip down music's memory lane.

Phil is also a Friend of West Bromwich Central Library, and is a member of their Music Group, which Su3a members are very welcome to attend.
