This page will contain updates from the national project team from time to time.

March 2024 update
The roll-out queue was updated on 2nd March. The team continues to see migration volumes ramp up. More than one site a day is completing the Workbook with a member of the Migration team introducing themselves to the Web Manager(s). 87 Web Managers representing 62 sites are studying the Workbook. A further 82 Web Managers are booked on an Introduction Zoom session

February 2024 update
January saw us start our ‘Phase 3’ testing that focused on the team’s processes and general familiarisation for team volunteers. One change that has resulted is that we are now contacting Web Managers to invite their u3a’s Chair/Secretary to sign the Terms & Conditions and join the program.
There are now 38 production SiteWorks sites, but more significantly there are 69 (as of 6th Feb) sites booked on our Zoom Introduction sessions starting on the 8th

February 2024 Project Update Presentation
Nick Talbott and Frances Kilburn presented at the u3a ‘Let’s Talk Tech’ Zoom lunchtime talk on 6th February. Nick updated us on roll-out and developments while Frances talked candidly about what it was like to be a Pioneer to get us this far. The slides (PDF) are available now opposite with a video of the session to follow.

Let’s Talk Tech is a nationwide u3a Facebook group for any topic with a technical aspect, use the link opposite to view.

January 2024 update
There are now 30 live sites with 2 in preparation on the Trust’s production server. We are now in the rehearsal phase to familiarise the team with the on-boarding and migration process. This kicked off with a Zoom Introduction session with Web Managers from the SiteWorks team who were not Pioneers sites. This phase is expected to evolve into production roll-out and batches of u3as have already been invited to sign the Terms & Conditions.

Romsey & District update
The Trustees have now signed the T's & C's and we have been allocated a March start date. Initially the Webmaster will be trained and involved with migration planning, mostly technical, and then a programme of "getting to know" sessions will be run to allow you to see the differences and additional new options available, especially on Group pages.

Once we have a viable system, Group Leaders and Trustees who want to edit their pages will be invited to a training session run by the Webmaster, more to follow.

If you have questions about any of this, please contact your Webmaster directly at webmaster
