The Poetry group meets monthly on the fourth Friday at 2pm at the RC Church. We have a new theme agreed in advance and we select poems around that to read to participants each month. Poems chosen can be classics or modern. It’s possible to put the theme on the internet where a wide selection can be found so it’s not essential to have poetry books at home. Sometimes we make extra photocopies so we can read out each verse in turn. We don’t chose poems we may have written ourselves and rely mainly on published poems by well -known British and American authors. Our group is a small one and we would welcome new participants to give a fresh slant to the poems chosen.
