Botany and Wildflowers

What’s the difference between a weed and a wildflower? Isn’t a weed simply a wildflower in a place you don’t want it? And if not - why not?

The Wildflower and Botany group welcomes anyone who has an interest in wild plants wherever they are to be found Grassland, woodland, moorland, wetland, coastal or garden. Knowledge is not a necessity, just a curiosity in the natural world.

As well as walks around various habitats we welcome ideas from members for talks, trips and meet ups. We meet monthly with a break across the winter restarting in the spring. See the u3a Events page for details of future meetings.
