Thursday, Weeks 2 and 4.
Do you enjoy taking leisurely walks in the sunshine with camera in hand, stopping now and then to take a photo of something that catches your eye? Then this may be the Group for you!
We meet twice monthly for about eight months of the year, on the second and fourth Thursday, and once a month during the Winter, when a walk on the wild side might not appeal! Our outings can last anything from two to maybe five hours, depending partly on how far we are travelling, and invariably involve a “pit stop”!
Venues are chosen by the members of the Group.
2019 found us returning to the Delamore Art & Sculpture Exhibition, Cornwood Flower Festival, and Lukesland. Cockington and Wildside were well-supported outings.
We found Judas trees, Handkerchief and Tulip trees. And the pièce de résistance? A Toffee Apple tree! Our last outing of the year took us to the Church of St Nicholas & St Faith in Saltash for its Christmas Tree Festival. Stunning, and put together with such love.
Our Programme for 2020 will see us returning to Totnes to follow the very interesting Town Trail, and Lukesland to admire the garden in a different season. We will have a day out at Castle Drogo, now that the multi-million pound programme of repairs has been completed. Take a bus to visit the seaside at Kingsand & Cawsand, and return to Dartington Hall Gardens, a treasure-trove of delights, in search of its Toffee Apple Tree!
If you would like to join the Group, please do have a word with me at a General Meeting.
