Creative Writing
The group normally meets by Zoom, meetings are on the 4th Thursday of the month, 10.30 - 12 midday.
The Group has 14 members from Alnwick u3a, Northumberland to Saltburn u3a, North Yorkshire and many u3as in between. We started meeting on Zoom during the pandemic and continue to do so every month, with occasional face to face social/learning events.
In March 2022 we decided to publish a book of short stories and poems. This experience was a huge learning curve, especially organising the publishing element ourselves. Every member has contributed in some way to the stories or poems. The book called ‘Leafing Through the Seasons’ has just been published.
If any money is raised from our adventure, a day's workshop will be organised for all Creative Writing Groups within the Northumbria Region; 100 members could attend. Maybe you could purchase a copy to help us realise this goal.

This is our first book. It was an enjoyable experience, a lot of hard work, but it hasn’t stopped us from thinking about our next adventure into the world of writing and publishing.
