From A19 (either from north or south)
Leave the A19 onto the A1231 and head East towards Sunderland. After about a mile, at the second roundabout, turn LEFT with the Vertu Honda dealership and BP garage on your left. This is Barrons Quay Road. Continue straight on over a mini roundabout, you are now on Hylton Castle Road. Pass Castletown cemetery on the left and Hylton Castle will be on your right. The entrance is quite narrow. Parking is in front of the castle.
From the south and west if using the A1(M)
Leave the motorway at Junction 65 (Birtley) and follow signs for the A1231. Continue East on the A1231 towards Sunderland, passing through Washington. When you cross over the A19, follow the directions above.

Public Transport
The 21 bus from Gateshead Bus Concourse stops at the entrance to the drive.
It runs every 10 minutes along Durham Road

By Car
Huge road works at the roundabout Junction 66 off the A1 might mean delays
- take the sliproad off A1 at J66,
at the roundabout find B1296 (going towards Wrekenton)
from the South it's the 4th exit off the roundabout
from the North it's the 2nd exit off the roundabout
There is a very large Car Park behind the hotel entered (either from Durham Road if you've come through Low Fell or) first left off the B1296

Directions: Travelling North or South on the AI come off at junction 76. Take the B6324 to Westerhope. Go through 5 sets of traffic lights (these include pedestrian crossings) and turn left onto Hillhead Road. The venue is on the right hand side. Ample parking.

Seaham Town Hall

Travelling south on the A19 – after the Sunderland exits keep on to the exit marked Seaham. At the top of the slip road turn left onto the B1404. Go down to the traffic lights and turn right.
After about 200 yards the town hall is on the left – turn left at the mini roundabout and the entrance to the car park is immediately on the left
Travelling north on the A19 – immediately after the Easington Services take the exit for Seaham, Murton and Dalton Park. At the top of the slip road take the second exit and go down to the traffic lights as if heading to Dalton Park retail outlet.
At the traffic lights turn right. Follow the road until you reach a roundabout. Take the Second exit straight on. Follow the road until you pass a Tesco express on the left.
Go down the bank to the mini roundabout and turn right.
The entrance to the town hall cark is then immediately on the left.
Travelling north or south on the A1M – take the Durham turn off for the A690. At the top of the slip road head for Sunderland on the A690. Follow the A690 and take the second exit for Houghton le Spring and Seaham. At the top of the slip road take the second exit to the next roundabout. Take the third exit – you’ll actually be driving under the A690 and join the B1404.
Follow the road through to Seaham and when you pass over the A19 follow the instructions above.

Travel directions by car.
Coming from the A1, either north or south.
Leave the A1 (Western Bypass) at junction 68 (Lobley Hill Interchange). This is the A692 / B1426 exit to Consett/Whickham/Team Valley.
Take the A692 (Lobley Hill Road). Continue to follow the A692 for 2.3 miles. At a traffic light junction, turn right onto the B6316 Sunniside Rd. In 0.2 mile Sunniside Club will be on the left hand side.
Parking is available at the back of the club. The entrance to the Club is at the side. You will pass the entrance, if you park in the car park.
Travel by bus
The bus stop for Sunniside Club is in front of the club. The stop is called Sunniside Road/ Hollywell Lane, Sunniside. Services X30 X31 X70 Go North East

Durham Indoor Bowling Club is situated in the Newton Hall area of Durham approximately 3 miles North from the City Centre. It is near to the Arnison Shopping Centre and lies directly behind the Abbey Sports/Leisure Centre and Abbey Community Centre. Satnavs will take you to the Sports/Leisure Centre but take the road immediately on the left of the Sports Centre and follow it downhill to find the Bowling Club.
