This poster of Ormskirk is a composition of six of my photographs, that I processed and colourised to put together as proud symbols of my local market town of Ormskirk - in the style of railway posters of the past. It includes the Station, which connects us with Liverpool and Preston; the Clocktower (1876); the Parish Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, which dates back to Saxon times, with a 15th Century steeple, (the tower was added around 1548 to house the bells from Burscough Priory following the dissolution of the Monastries in 1536).Edge Hill University is represented by its crest as the Moon and finally Ormskirk Gingerbread by the man in the right-hand corner. Production of Ormskirk Gingerbread was recently shown on the 'Hairy Bikers' TV Food Programme.
