Newsletter and News

A regular newsletter is sent to all members who have provided email addresses. It contains messages from Group Leaders, Event reminders and links for sites and information which might be of interest to members.

Sam Hoyle and Christine are our editors - they decide which items will be included each week. They then design and collate the Newsletter - with appropriate illustrations and more than a few cartoons, jokes and funny comments. Contributors are responsible for the accuracy of the information they submit - this includes dates, venues, spellings of names etc. Sam's weekly quiz is in the newsletter with the answers to the previous one.

Please use this link to send in your contribution. You can include attachments as with any usual email message: Newsletter Editor

The newsletter is generally sent out late Friday afternoon.

The deadline for submission of items is 12 noon on Thursday.

Jan 29th was a one off Steel Band session with Milnthorpe Steel Band in Rufford Village Hall. Videos from this session are accessed from the link on the right

There is a short article about our u3a in the October Newsletter of the u3a North West region and in the National October Newsletter there is an article about Karen's "Give it a Go" group. See the links on this page to the article and also to the podcast

"Your u3a highlights of 2023" - taken from the December National Newsletter.....

Our u3a thrives on cooperation and mutual respect and the Coronation Afternoon Tea, which was the highlight of the Spring, epitomises that spirit. Our thanks go to Joan and Kay for coming up with the idea and to all members who made it such a huge success, especially the gentlemen who served the tea and Prosecco, Beryl for organising the table decorations and Audrey for her stunning Coronation cakes.

The whole event ran like a well oiled machine. It would be impossible to thank everyone by name, but special thanks go to Stuart and Pat who worked tirelessly all afternoon, up to their elbows in hot water, when the dishwasher let us down.
