Research shows that five out of six people in the world today are religious, the majority belonging one of the six major religions Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Judaism. Religion shapes politics, art, culture, law, economics and international relations. Lack of understanding about religion can lead to fear, intolerance, hatred, racism, conflict and war. By 2060 the numbers of Christians and Muslims will be roughly equal and will amount to two-thirds of the world’s population having a religious belief.

The religion group is an opportunity for us to explore this aspect of human experience in a structured, open and non-judgemental way. As a group facilitator, I have a background in comparative religion with particular expertise in Christianity, Buddhism and Hinduism and have been teaching Religious Studies for over 30 years. I would love to explore this topic together with the group to increase our understanding of world beliefs so that they become stimulating, thought-provoking and non-threatening.
