Camelot Area

Wednesday Walking

The Wednesday walking group started 25 years ago and was the first and only Camelot group for some time. Of course here have been various group leaders in that time, and members of the group have come and gone too. However, we have always been a cheery bunch and many people new to Castle Cary have joined and made good friends in the group.

Our walks are varied and range from those local to Cary to 'days out', such as Weymouth, Salisbury and the Quantocks.

There are currently about 20 members of the group. Each member takes turns to lead a walk having reconnoitre it first, usually with another member of the group. The walks are about 5 miles long and nearly always start and finish at a pub for lunch and more chat!

We meet at the designated pub at 9.45, so that those choosing to lunch can order their food. Staying for lunch of course is optional. Walking boots and appropriate clothing is needed.

There is no better way to see our beautiful countryside in all its moods.

We always welcome new members and anyone interested, please contact us via the "Group Enquiries" link that you can access on the "Contact" page.
