The Yoga – Experienced Group meet weekly from 9.00 to 10.45 on Tuesdays |
The Group meet at Everton Sports Pavilion, Frys Lane, Everton SO41 0JY, and the last half-hour of the session is for an optional social cup of coffee.
Posture work (adapted to personal need) improves strength, core stability and flexibility. Using the breath to complement movements and held postures creates a meditative calmness of mind and sense of freedom in the body. There is generally a short breathing or meditation practice at the end of the session.
The principles or theories behind the techniques used in practice are often discussed, and the group members are invited to share their experiences.
Written versions of practices are offered for members to practise at home.
The approach to yoga is within the Viniyoga tradition of TKV Desikachar and his father Krishnamacharya.
Experienced Required: This Group is for practitioners with some experience, who are open to further learning within the Viniyoga tradition.
