The Historical Topics (3) Group meet monthly from 14.30 tlo 16.30 on the 3rd Wednesday, in the South Lawn Hotel library |
The Group has been moving chronologically from the Glorious Revolution of 1688, over the years, to the present day & has got to the mid 19th century.
We take a seminar approach to meetings with contributors within the group having prepared a topic or the overall subject beforehand. Opinions are not personal and as far as possible have to be historically accurate and objective, so we try to develop a detective story evidence-based approach and to avoid traditional, black and white, simplistic interpretations of history.
Experience: None required other than having read about the subject before each meeting
Costs: None
