Joining Lymington U3A

No longer working full-time or raising a family? Now’s the time to make the most of life. Lymington u3a gives you the chance to develop your interests, make new friends and enjoy yourself – and we are always happy to welcome new members.

Our membership year runs from 1 March to the end of the following February, but you can join whenever you wish. Being a member allows you to attend our monthly Speaker meetings and to join Interest Groups, so long as they have space. In normal times, you can sign up to any trips and outings that we are organising, subject to availability, and attend our TED Talks. As a member, you will also receive a copy of the Lymington U3A Newsletter, and can elect to receive the national u3a magazine.

• To join, click Application for our application pack. Print it and fill out your details, then send it in with your cheque for £20 (or £10 if you are joining between 1 September and end February). After this initial membership fee, it costs £15 to renew the following year. You can find out where your money goes by clicking on the link at the top right of this page.

Once you have joined, the Members Welcoming Officer would normally invite you to her house to meet with other new members for a coffee morning or afternoon tea but, of course, these sessions cannot take place at the moment. Instead, you will be invited by her to a Zoom meeting, which has proved to be an enjoyable substitute. Once you are a member, you can join an Interest Group (subject to there being a space) by contacting the relevant group leader. You can send them an e-mail by clicking on the appropriate link in the Groups page. Alternatively, you can get in touch with the Interest Groups Coordinator from the Contact page with any questions.
