Shakespeare

The Shakespeare Group meet monthly from 10.00 to 12.30 on the last Wednesday

We are an ambitious group, aiming to read the whole of the canon together!
Our approach is to have a general introduction to the play, to read it aloud, and to discuss whatever seems relevant – politics in Coriolanus, morality in Measure for Measure, poetry everywhere etc.

Sometimes we watch a DVD, or take a trip to the Globe, and occasionally we read a connected contemporary play (The Tamer Tamed, after The Taming of the Shrew).

No preparation is required for any session, though if someone has missed a session it’s useful to read through what’s been missed.
