Due to a recent agreement with the Woodside U3A, the member's of both U3As now have the opportunity to attend a BSL session each week on a Friday afternoon from 2 to 3.30pm. On the 1st and 3rd Friday the sessions are hosted by Chiswell Green U3A and on the 2nd and 4th Friday the sessions are hosted by Woodside U3A.
The sessions are located as follows:-
1st and 2nd Friday - located at a members house.
3rd Friday - we meet at Burston's Restaurant, North Orbital Road, Chiswell Green AL2 2DS
4th Friday - at ASDA Supermarket Community Room, Odhams Trading Estate, St. Albans Road, Watford WD24 7RT. (just off the Dome Roundabout)
The sessions are quite relaxed and are not strictly structured which allows people at all learning levels to participate in the activity. We have various learning aids such as CD's, Books and Dictionaries which are available to borrow as well as using a phone App. We regularly cover the use of "Fingerspelling" and discuss the various aspects of BSL grammar, signing and everyday use.
